When a handsome stranger sails in to Gull Bay he sets a few pulses racing, none more so than the one belonging to bakery owner April Hart.
It is not long though before one lady’s pulse, rather than racing, is stopping. Well before their time.
When the body of one of the local wealthy widows washes up in the harbour, wrapped in a fishing net, it is clear that she didn’t get tangled in the net by accident. It also seems immediately obvious who has committed the crime, for the stranger has sailed out of Gull Bay as quickly as he sailed in. With the police utilising all their resources to try and track him down, it is up to April to try and clear his name before he is found. For she is sure that the murderer can be caught much closer to home.
